THE EASTER EGG

The tradition of the decorated Easter egg was born thank to the goldsmith Peter Carlbergé, who in 1883 received from the Tsar the task of preparing a special gift for Tsarina Maria. For the occasion, the goldsmith created the first Fabergé egg, a white-enamelled platinum egg containing another egg, created in gold, which contained two gifts: a reproduction of the imperial crown and a golden chick. The fame that the first Fabergé egg had, contributed to spreading the tradition of the internal gift of the egg.
